INTERNATIONAL MARINE ARCTIC COMPLEX EXPEDITION

"CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE OF THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC"

This is the first international expedition in this large area of the Arctic, including the Franz-Josef Land and Novaya Zemlya Archipelagoes and Vaigach Island, in the last 100 years, which is planned to accomplish so varied scope of research tasks.

The purpose of the expedition will be finding and examination of the historical sites evidencing discovery and development of the Arctic Archipelagoes during the expeditions of XVIII-XX centuries, and the natural environment of those sites, including different factors of the ongoing climatic changes.
